Forest and water hike

A guided tour through the Zirben forest, a 200 year old natural monument and an excellent teaching trail of the Obergurgl Alpine Research Center. You will visit the Rotmoos water falls and walk up to the Schönwies Hut. You will also visit the highmoor in the Rotmoos Valley, which is 6000 years old.

Garnet Hike

A guided tour through the Gaisberg and Rotmoos Valleys on the glacier teaching trail and crossing the Mut Saddle.
Mineral lovers will be especially drawn to places where the Almandin garnet can be found. If you are lucky, you will find a beautiful piece, most likely embedded in soft mica slate.

Piccard hike

A tour across the big Gurgl Glacier to where Auguste Piccard’s stratospheric balloon landed in 1931. After your ascent to the Karslruher Hut and the Schwärzen Ridge, you will reach the Hochwilde Hut at 2,900 meters. The descent across the Gurgl Glacier and the Ramol trail with its unique mountain flora is especially impressive. Here you will receive a stamp for your glacier pin.

Smuggler hike across the Königsjoch

“A secret border-crossing” on a former smugglers’ trail to an idyllic high-mountain hut in South Tyrol. After a bus trip to Hochgurgl, you will hike an easy to medium trail across the Köngis Valley to the Königsjoch with awe-inspiring views of the prominent mountain ranges in the Southern Alps such as Dolomites, Rosengarten, and Langkofel. Return on the hiking tour via the Timmelsjoch. Please bring your passport. Here you will receive a stamp for your glacier pin.

Panorama trail in the High Alps

Tiefenbach Glacier – Vent. Starting near the Tiefenbach Glacier in Sölden a newly built hiking trail runs through wide cirques and moraine ridges high above the Vent Valley. It is an easy to medium descent to Vent glacier village. The trail affords unique views of the Oetz and Stubai Valley Alps. Drive up the glacier road and return from Vent with the tour bus.

Summit tour to the Zirmkogl (3,280 m)

A tour to a 3,000-meter peak for slightly advanced mountain lovers. The ascent through the lake region to the Gurgler Schartl (2,932 m) is a bit strenuous, but the moderate hike to the summit via the Stock Glacier offers grandiose views, from the Ortler peak to the regions far to the South.

Glacier tours

Across the Rotmoos Glacier to the Zwickauer Hut (2,980 m). After riding the Hohe Mut glacier lift to 2,670 meters, you will cross the Mut Saddle and reach the lower ends of the Rotmoos Glacier. All the tour members will be roped up to ascend the Rotmoosjoch (3,055 m) and cross the border at the Alpenhauptkamm ridge to reach Zwickauer Hut. After a well-deserved rest, we will hike down to the village of Pfelders in a remote corner of the Passeier Valley. Return with the tour bus via the Timmelsjoch.
