Connecting gondola from Obergurgl to Hochgurgl
The 8 person gondola “Top Express” connects the skiing areas Obergurgl and Hochgurgl. It takes just nine minutes to get from one skiing area to the other one. With 50 gondolas in total the cable car offers a transportation service for 1200 persons within one hour. You have spectacular overviews if you pass the “König”- and the “Verwall”- valleys and also a marvellous panorama with all the glacier summits.

Artificial snow in Obergurgl-Hochgurgl
90 percent of the slopes in Obergurgl-Hochgurgl can be covered with snow up to an altitude of 3,000 meters. That’s why the region has made a name for itself as the one with the “highest snow guarantee“ in the Alps. Snow is produced with the help of a computer-controlled program. Canons start to shoot out snow at the appropriate temperature and humidity. Five weather stations in the area supply detailed information for this process to function properly.
